Lucia's father was killed in the beginning of the massacres. After her father's death, her mother was on the list of those who were going to be deported within a few days or hours. Her mother gave her to a known Kourd in Severek for the only reason to safe the life of her child. A few hours later her mother was deported with hundreds of Armenian women, girls and children.

Lucia lived seven years in the Kurd's house being the maid-servant of his family. She never heard what happened to her mother. After the Armistice her master wanted to marry her to his Turkish servant, but Lucia refused knowing that she is an Armenian girl and not a Moslem. There was only one way to save her honour and this was to flee to an Armenian family. Lucia fled and succeeded in getting a "passport." She came with a caravan composed of Armenian refugees to Aleppo. A Greek of this town engaged her as a servant, but did not pay her any salary. Lucia had no place where to stay and so she went to the Greek's house. After a short time she became ill and was transported to the Hospital. After her recovery she went back to her mistress but the latter did not want her services any longer. Lucia looked for some work but she could not find any latter and so she came to us and we received her on June 6th.

Found her relatives in Beyrouth and went to live with them.
