In
the beginning of the war Vardy's husband was killed with many other Armenians
in Tel-Ermen. The Kurd who had killed her husband dragged Vardy away with him
and married her by force. Twelve years she was obliged to stay with that man.
Many times she tried to flee, but was caught and brought back again. How she
suffered to live with that man, who had been the murderer of her husband, whom
she loved. Once she succeeded in fleeing to Caraman. There our helper found her
and sent her daughter per motor-car to our reception-house in Aleppo.
Left our care: August 4, 1927. Relatives.
