In the beginning of the
Armenian massacre Turks killed his one brother and one sister. His father was
in the army as soldier. He was deported with his mother, who died on the road
not enduring the sufferings. Near Urfa Haigas was taken by an Arab to his
house. There he worked eleven years as a shepherd. When he heard that there are
many Armenians in Aleppo. He wanted to return to his nation, hoping to find
also his relatives. Haigaz asked his master to let him go, but the latter
refused and began to keep a hard vigilance on him. In midnight he succeeded to
escape and to reach Arabpounar, where he met with our agent who sent him to our
rescue-house. Found relatives in Aleppo and went to live with them. His father
is in America.
