In the beginning of the deportations she fled with her parents to Dersim. Turkish troops followed them and killed her father there. She stayed four years there, her mother also.
After the deportations stopped she went back to her native town taking her mother with her. The latter became ill and died there. Surina was left all alone and was obliged to work in order to support herself.
One of her neighbours allowed her to sleep in his house as long as he was there. When Armenians were allowed to emigrate they left Turkey and took Surina with them.
As far as we know she has no relatives.
Later her relatives were found and she is now living with them.
Left our care: June 3, 1923. Relatives.
