Yeghsa's father died before the war. When the deportation began Yeghsa was kept in her neighbour's house and so she does not know what became of her relatives. Yeghsa remained for four years in the Turkish house.
During the Russian occupation of this region they were exiled to Harpoot. After one year they were allowed to return but Yeghsa did not want and entered as a servant in another Turkish house. One year later Near East Relief orphanages were opened in Harpoot and she was taken in. After three years she was discharged from the orphanage, having no relatives and no money to live on she beame once more the servant of a Turk. When Armenians were emigrating to Syria she joined a caravan and came to this city.
She was not fit for the life in our house and was received in the Armenian asylum here in Aleppo.
