His father was the proprietor of a
great farm in the neighbourhood of Urfa. In the beginning of the deportation he
was in that town where he heard that his parents with his one sister and three
brothers were exiled in an unknown direction.
His father had a Turkish co-partner
in the farm. Profiting by the opportunity he one day beat Bedros so cruelly
that the poor boy lost his two teeth. After that he kicked him out of doors.
Bedros went to a Kurd village named Kulledj but the following day his
co-partner came and took him again to the farm, where remained eleven years as
his servant.
One day his master in his madness
killed his own sister and fled to the Syrian territory taking Bedros with him.
Here Bedros could find his chance to flee and doing it he reached Aleppo. He
was helpless therefore we took him in. We are informed by his countrymen in
Aleppo that his three brothers are still living in Baghdad.
We found Bedros'
relatives in Beirut, and he went to join them.
