In the beginning of the deportation her mother gave her to a Turk in order to safe her life. She lived with the Turks family for seven years being their servant.
Araksi tried to flee several times but she did not succeed. Her master followed her and punished her very cruelly. Her master was put in prison by the Turkish government and Araksi had the best opportunity to flee. She went to the Armenian church. The priest helped her and she finally reached this city.
Her father is in America.
