Several days after his mother's death his father was
killed by the Kurds of the town. Levon was deported with his two brothers Myre
and Azade. At a few days distance from Moosh, they managed to flee all together
but a Circassian met with them and took Levon to his village named Zaza. He
never had any news from his brothers. After a few years Levon fled and went to
the village Zakhad. There he became the shepherd of Ahmed Ali, again a
Circassian. One day the son of the judge of Lidje brought him to his father,
and Levon became the servant of his new master. After two years Levon went with
some other boys to Diarbekir. There he worked in a military bakery. One of our
secret agents met with him and told him about our rescue-home and about the
possibilities he had in Aleppo. He left his work, and one day he arrived here.
