When Armenians were deported his father was killed in his native town. Hovsep was deported with his mother and four brothers. After a walk of four hours, Kourds attacked the caravan and most of the unhappy people were killed.

            Hovsep, however, succeeded in fleeing and he returned to his native town. The chief of the village gave him the permission to stay in his house and Hovsep became his servant.

            Hovsep lived eight years among the Kourds, but remembered that he was an Armenian. He fled once but was obliged to return because he had no money and could not continue his journey. When Armenians were emigrating he fled again joined a caravan of leaving Armenians. In Hassitshe he met our agent who sent him directly to us.

            Hovsep died the 15th April 1925. His mother came and nursed him the last days. She is still staying in our house nursing another boy.
