Deported in 1915 with mother, two sisters and three brothers to Mardin. Father died before the war.
In Mardin Sarkis was separated from his relatives and given to a Kourdish family. Several hours afterwards the caravan of deportation was sent further on into the Syrian desert.
The Kourd had taken Sarkis to his village Kabala, where he lived nine years as farmer. He was told by Kourdish boys that there are Armenians in Aleppo Sarkis fled a few days later to Mardin. He went to the Armenian priest who is our agent. From there he was sent to Hassitshe in Syrian territory our agent of that district sent him right away to us.
Sarkis does not know what happened to his relatives.
Learned a trade and left.
Left our care: August 17, 1925. Selfsupporting, Trade. Relatives.
