Mariam's father who was a prominent man, was in the
beginning of the great war thrown in prison, tortured and killed. Her mother
died some months after. Three brothers were taken as soldiers, but succeeded in
fleeing to Marseille. One sister was married in Beirut a year ago.
Mariam was forced to marry a Turk, who took possession of
all the property of her father.
Six months ago Mariam with her children were
exiled from Turkey.
Mariam went to Beirut to live with her sister.
