He was exiled with his parents and
one cousin. On reaching Aleppo his cousin was lost. The remainder were sent
forwards to Ras-el-Ain. There the Tchetchens took them away into a garden promising
them to save their lives. They passed the night there but the following day,
early in the morning, Arisdages saw that his mother was killed and father was
lost. Afterwards he was sent to Seffah near Hassitshe to an Arab named
Hassan-el-Tahhan, with whom he lived eleven years working as a shepherd. During
this time his master treated him very ill and one day after the last punishment
he fled to Hassitshe whence by our agent he was sent to us.
