During the deportation her parents
were killed in their native country. Dzenount was exiled with her grandmother
to Ras-el-Ain, there she lost her. A Kurd took the girl to his house in the
village Zediye near Mardin. She lived eleven years with them working as a slave.
One day she met with an Armenian boy (No. 1137) who was living in slavery too
in a neighbouring village. After the exchange of a few words, they persuaded
each other to make their escape and both of them reached Hassitshe, from where
by our agent they were sent to us.
