Garabed
was a small boy, when he was deported with his parents, his brother and sister.
All of them were sent to a Kurdish village called Boyt Bogh. On the road his
mother became ill and died, also his little sister died a few days after of
typhus. The father with his two boys was driven further on. Arrived at the village
his father and brother died. He himself was taken by a Kurd. Garabed was rather
well treated and became a shepherd. With his age, his desire to return to
civilized life grew. He decided to flee and so he did. After three days
wandering at night he reached Djerablus. There he was recognized as an Armenian
by our agent who immediately sent him to our rescue-home in Aleppo.
Left our care: September 15, 1927. Relatives, uncle in
Djerablus.
