Her father died during his service in the Turkish army. Yeghsa was deported with her mother until Urfa where she lost her. She was taken to a Turkish family. For five years she was the maid-servant of this house.

During the British occupation an Armenian young man took her from that family and sent her to Severek hoping that she would be able to locate some of her relatives. As she could not find any she was obliged to go again to a Turkish family as a worker. When Armenians started to emigrate she fled to the Chan and from there she went with a caravan to Urfa and finally she reached this city. She was very poor so we received her on December 13, 1922.

As far as we know she has no relatives.

Yeghsa was received in the Near East Relief orphanage.

Left our care: April 10, 1923. Orphanage, N.E.R.
