Her
parents died before the war. The rest of the family, 3 sisters and 3 brothers
were exiled to the region of Aleppo. On the road, being always (can’t read)
with the horrible fear of death the caravan reached Bab. There they were
conducted to a garden. At midnight the slaughter began and the most exciting
scene ensured. Men were killed, women wounded, girls carried off by force and
children were beaten down by the horses’ hoofs.
Eliza’s
tearful entreaties could induce a Kürd to spare her life. The Kürd profiting by
the opportunity proposed her to marry him, in that awful moment she accepted
readily to his proposal and became his wife. After two years he sold her to a
Turk in Souroudj. This man had protected an Armenian, who was useful for him by
working in his mill. Later Eliza was married to that Armenian from whom she
gained two children. In the beginning of 1926 her husband died and his master
wanted to marry her to one of his Kürd servants. Eliza managed cleverly without
saying yes or no till she could come into connection with our Arabpounar agent,
who succeded in arranging her escape with her two children.
Eliza has a broter in America and ….

Left our care: No. 1130 (!!) married
