Deported until Rakka. In the region about Malatia the caravan was partly killed and he himself was severly wounded and lay unconscious among the deads. In the evening after dark he awoke, heard fearful noises of men being almost killed and women crying, naked men came running with gaping wounds and the blood streaming down. He found his mother dying and by and by lost all his relatives.

            His father's brother is living in Constantinople and his sister has come so far as to Moussul where her uncle found her. We are now trying to get his address. His name is Arshavir Ataragalian.

Harutiun went with a transport of American orphans to Beirut from where he hoped to be able to get on to Constantinople. He left on his own account and we had no news from him whether he succeeded or not.
