Mariam was married before the
war. When the deportation started, her husband was exiled before her and was
lost. She herself was exiled with her 1 child, mother and 2 sisters.
When they reached to Biredjik,
her child and mother became ill and died. 1 sister was sent forth in an unknown
direction, and the other was forced to marry an Arab in Biredjik.
Mariam also was taken to a
Turk's house, where she remained 11 years as a maid servant. She once fled to
Djarablous from where by an Armenian priest she was sent to us.
Mariam's
eyes were in a terrible condition. We have had them operated and have nursed
her a longtime, as she also had other sicknesses. Later her sister was found in
Aleppo, and she is now living with her.
We
have been giving her some help outside the house.
Left
our care: March 22, 1926. Living with her sister in Aleppo.
