Artin's father died when he was a little
boy. When the war broke out in Turkey, the family was deported to Sabka (a town
between Aleppo and Der-el-Zor).
Being far away from their home and
property, they could not support all the sufferings inflicted upon them and
after several days of their arrival at Sabka, his mother and sister died there.
One day, at night, the caravan was attacked by
Arabs, who robbed, violated and killed the poor people. Artin however, could
flee, he went an Arab village and was admitted in an Arab family as a servant.
He remained 12 long years there
until he was informed about our rescue-home, then he fled to Deir-el-Zor and
asked the protection of our agent, who sent him to us.
Left our
care: December 4, 1926. Relatives.
