The boy remembers that his father was killed on the road,
and that his mother and he himself with many other people were driven to and
fro till they reached Tel-Afar. There the mother became ill and died. An Arab,
Hassan Abdullah, took possession of him. Herant was a shepherd by that man many
years, never he got any recompense for his hard work. One day he met with an
Armenian chauffeur, who brought him to Mosul, from where he was sent to us.
