Azniv
was deported with her parents, one brother and 2 sisters. They stayed six
months in Aleppo, from where they were exiled to Ras-el-Ain. There the caravan
was attacked by Arabs who robbed, killed and butchered the poor people.
Azniv
does not know furthermore about her parents, brothers and sisters. An Arab took
her to his house as maid-servant. After one year the Arab sold her to another
one for one Turkish pound. She was obliged to marry the next. After 7 years the
Arab died, and she returned to her first master, there she remained 3 years.
Once she took information that
her brother is living in Aleppo, with great difficulty she fled to Hassitshe.
Our agent found her and sent her to us, here she looked for her brother and
heard that he was in prison, where he must remain still 5 months. Of course she
was sorry, yet she was very glad to have been accepted in our rescue-house and
she has opportunity to visit her brother occasionally.
Left
our care: November 1, 1926. Selfsupporting, Embroidery.
We
had to take her back, because she had serious troubles with her ears.
Finally she left for France.
February 14, 1928.
She is now married in America.
