Haroutioune's father was killed in Ashkala and his mother died in Malatia. Haroutioune lived 3 years in Malatia being the servant of a Turkish family. Later he went to Harpoot where he worked for a Turkish druggist for one year. He met some Armenian boys who decided to flee, he asked them to let him come with them, they agreed and fled together with the intention to come to Aleppo, but on the road they were attacked and robbed by Kourds. Some of the boys went back to Harpoot he himself with some others went on to Diarbeker where he lived 3 years in a Turkish house. He found an opportunity and fled at night, joining a part of Greeks going to Aleppo. He succeeded in coming to Aleppo [after] a walk of three weeks in the snow.
His brother is to be found in America.
Haroutioune found some work and became selfsupporting.
