Deported in 1915 with his family until Eski Shehir there the father became a soldier in the Turkish Army and the family was sent back to the village surrounding Sivri-Hissar. After the Armistice they returned to their house in the city. Father came back from the army sick, and as they had become very poor, he could not be taken care of and died.

Then came the second deportation in 1921 as the Greek were approaching this region. This time only men and boys were deported and brought over to Yosghat, Sivas and Malatia to Kiaghta. Nobody was killed, out of 69 persons, who left Sivri-Hissar together, 55 reached Kiaghta, 5 being dead and 9 left in other cities. About a month ago these people were again gathered and dirven off towards Diarbekir, Garabed, however, had managed not to be inscribed on the lists, and later he fled from the Moslem house, where he had been living, and came over Urfa to Aleppo.

Garabed's mother and 2 younger sisters are living in very poor conditions in Eski-Shehir, where the Greeks brought them to, after the occupation of Eski Shehir and Eski-Hissar. His mother's brother is in Adiaman, it is to be hoped, that he can come out to take care of them. They have nobody else.

Garabed learned a trade and found an opportunity to return to his family.
