Parunag is a young man over 25. He
was exiled with his whole family to Ras-el-Ain. There the caravan was exposed
to the attack of a band of plunderers. The work of extermination began and
lasted during nearly two hours. Parunag himself received three sword-strokes on
the head, leg and on his rib. He crept slowly away and hid himself in a ditch
among the dead.
The following day an old Arab woman
saw and took Parunag to her tent, she took care of him until he was cured. The
woman had no children, therefore she regarded him as her child. Parunag grew up
and remained eleven years there but he could not be useful to his stepmother,
because he could not work hard. He is impotent owing to his former wounds.
One day he heard about our rescue-home
and came to us hoping to find any of his relatives. Parunag was very ill for a
long time.
