Her father died in America before the deportation. She was banished with her mother and brother to Malatia. Her mother became ill and died there. Armenoohi's aunt was living in Harpoot. When she heard about the death of her sister, she sent a muleteer to Malatia and brought them to Harpoot where she could take care of them. Armenouhi came to Harpoot and lived with her aunt. Unfortunately the latter died within a few months and Armenoohi remained helpless.

She was obliged to take shelter in a Turkish house. Her mistress was an Armenian, always kind and good toward her but her master [was] a fanatic Turk. One night the Turk tried to strangle her. With difficulty Armenouhi could flee to an Armenian house. She could only pass the night there and fled early in the morning to Malatia. After a tiresome and perilous journey walking across the mountains she came at night to Malatia.

Some Armenians took care of her for several months until the emigration order came. Later the Armenian colony of Malatia collected the necessary money for her trip and sent her to this city.

Came into connection with her relatives and went to live with them.
