During the exile a gendarm wanted to
separate his father from the family. He resisted and was killed instantly. His
mother was killed on the road by the same gendarm who had been his father's
murderer. On reaching the village Zaghkert his sister was taken by a Kurd who
after one month married her. Avedis remained many years with his sister and one
day following the two boys (No. 1198, 1199) came to Hassitshe, whence by our
agent he was sent per auto to Aleppo.
