His father was a soldier in the Turkish army when he was deported with his mother and sister and grandmother. Near Karooli Kourds attacked the caravan of deportation and killed most of them. Krikor however fled to a village named Koondrali. A Kourd from there took him to his house and kept him five years as a servant. Afterwards his master became ill and died.
He was discharged from that family and had to work in different houses in order to earn his living. Working in different places, he understood that he was an Armenian and not a Kourd. He worked for some time with a Kourdish blacksmith, made some money and fled to Nizib and later to Aleppo. Having no relatives and being unable to support himself he came to us and we took him in on June 28th.
Learned a trade, shoemaker, and left our care.
Left our care: September 21, 1925. Selfsupporting, Trade. |
