Vartanoosh'  husband served in the Turkish army 3 years, then he fled and Vartanoosh kept him clothed as a woman 6 months. He was also deported in a woman's dress with his wife and son, but soon he was discovered by the soldiers and killed.

The caravan was sent on to Hachim, where an Arab took her and brought her in his tent, where she served 3 years and was then sold to another Arab, who married her. She lived with him 4 years, he was then killed by a Kourd, and poor Vartanoosh had to marry another Arab in Raka.

That man had a wife and 3 daughters and those were very jealous on Vartanoosh and determined killing her.

One day the Arab went away in business, the chance was then there and they beat and illtreated Vartanoosh in that way that she got unconscious. Thinking her dead they threw her in a tomb and covered her with soil. She succeeded in coming out and fled to Rakka where our agent saw and sent her and her son on to us.
