                  Karekin himself does not remember anything about his parents or native town. The Arabs by whom he stayed have told him that his name was Karekin and that he was born in Ourfa.

                  He was always treated well but when he heard that he was an Armenian he fled to Ras-el-Ain.

                  There our agent found him and sent him on to our home Aleppo.
