Pampulik was deported with her parents, brothers, and
sisters to Mardin. Before they reached that city Pampulik broke down and
remained half unconscious on the road. The others were driven on. An Arab from
Mardin found Pampulik on the road and took her to his house. As soon as she was
well enough he married her. She was the second Armenian girl he married in that
way. He was kind to her but finally she wanted to return to her own nation. She
took the opportunity and fled over the frontier. From Hassitshe she was sent to
us.
