Vartanoush
was deported with her parents and her two brothers. On their way to Sivas her
little brother became ill. He died within a few days. Vartanoush together with
her parents had to continue their way towards the Syrian desert. When the
caravan reached the region of Samosad, a Kurd of the village Duguer took
Vartanoush from the arms of her mother and brought her to his house. Until
lately she was living with this man. She had to work with him in his
brick-works. However, lately Vartanoush was working at a far distance from the
village. An Armenian driver recognized her as an Armenian and took her right to
our Djerablus agent, who sent her on to us. Now we try to find out, what became
of her parents and brother.
Left our care: June 1, 1928. Selfsupporting, Servant.
November 1928 married in our village to No. 1163.
