In the time of deportation Hamparzum may have been four
to five years old. He does not remember much from that time, but he knows that
he was born in Diarbekir and that he came with his parents to Urfa. Those
disappeared and a Turk took him to his house. He remained seven years with that
man. Then the Turk died and Hamparzum had nobody to take care of him. He went
to a coffee-house, where he served three years. Afterwards he went to Surudj.
Lately he heard about our home in Aleppo. He went to Arab-pounar where one of
our friends helped him to cross the frontier.
Left our care: August 10,
1928. Living with the people from his city here in Aleppo.
