Garabed's father had been called up
as a soldier in the Turkish army. Garabed with his mother and two brothers was
exiled to Khabur. There the Arabs attacked them and distributed the spoil among
themselves. The poor boy was a share of booty to an Arab, with whom he lived
eleven years until he had got time to flee away. One day he escaped and reached
Hassitshe from where by our agent he was sent per auto to us.
