His mother died before the war and father was exiled in an unknown direction.

            Avedis had three brothers and one sister. The sister was taken away by a Turk to his house, where she still remains. One of his brothers was sent to a Turkish orphanage in Sivas, the other one fell ill and died in Hekimkhan, the remainder two were taken into different Turkish houses, where they had to work until our agent had the chance to rescue them.
