Hagop's father was a soldier in the Turkish army and killed during his service. The mother was exiled with her two boys and two daughters. On the road the eldest daughter became ill and died. The remainders were deported to Der-el-Zor, where they remained four years working in different Moslem houses.

Later they were exiled from Der-el-Zor to Mardin. There the mother became ill and died, the children were taken to the Turkish orphanage. Not long afterwards the orphanage was closed up and the children send away. The Armenian priest of Mardin, knowing their being Armenian sent him and his brother to us and kept their sister in his house.

As far as we know he has no relatives.

His mother came from Mardin and settled down here in the city with her children.

Left our care: June 6, 1924. Relatives.
