Kevork does not remember his father's name. He recollects that his father one day was sent away with many other men, and that he himself, his mother, 2 sisters and 1 brother came on the road and walked and walked till they reached Deir-el-Zor.

There his sisters were taken away by Arabs. The caravan was sent further on and on the road a Turk carried his mother off. The two brothers walked 3 days, then an Arab stole Kevork and brought him to his tent.

Kevork lived with him two years as his child and was rather well treated. Afterwards that Arab died and Kevork was taken by another Arab, where he became a shepherd. He stayed there 8 years. Then an Armenian automobil-driver saw him and promised to take him to our rescue-home in Aleppo if he wanted. Kevork decided to follow that Armenian and was brought to us.
