Samuel's father went to America
before the war. He was exiled with his mother and grandmother. As they reached
Herim (a village near Mardin) a Kurdish woman took the boy away from his
mother. Samuel does not know further details about his mother. The boy grew up
under the tent of this woman, whose name was Khati. One day he went to a neighbouring
village, Golli, where he met with our agent, who sent him to Hassitshe, whence
per auto to us.
