Megerditch was exiled with his
mother and one brother. His father was taken into the Turkish army and he never
returned again. Near Behesni he lost his brother. In Belveren a Turk took his
mother by force to his house. Megerditch went with the caravan further on and
reached Deir-el-Zor, where he came into the possession of a Circassian and
lived eleven years in his house until he was informed about the Armenians in
Aleppo. One day he fled and took refuge in the house of an Assyrian Catholic,
who sent him to us.
