Her father died before the deportation. Tutube was deported with her mother, sisters and brothers to a place named Gumush-Maden. This town was a central place for all deported Armenians coming from the eastern region of Turkey. All men were separated from their family and massacred by the gendarms. After this their mother became ill and died. Tutube with her sisters and brothers were all alone without any money and without food. Tutube went to a proach [near]  village to beg for her relatives, when she came back she found nobody there. They had been detached to an unknown place.

Gendarms from Gumush-Maden find her in the streets and took her to the governor's house. She was kept there for some time and afterwards deported with a caravan of Erzeroom people. The caravan was conducted to Mardin without passing any town. In Mardin a Turkish officer took her to his house and kept her as a servant. When she was twelve years old the officer married her by force and she lived with him until one month ago.

Tutube wanted to go to Aleppo, her husband being away for long times, but she could not obtain a passport. Later she went to the Armenian Catholic priest, he helped her financially and sent her on horseback to our agent in Hassitshe.

From there she was sent to us.

            Has no relatives.
