His father died before the war and his moter was killed in her native town.

During the exile Khatchig and his brother fell into the hands of Kürds in Diarbekir. Thus, being separated, they lost each other. 

Khatchig’s master, named Silo Yonus, had an Armenian girl (No. 1236) in his house. After five years he married her to Khatchig and they remained many years working for their master. Once the helper of our Mardin agent was informed and succeeded in transporting them to Mardin from where they were sent to us.
