PICTURE 13/3
Yester was deported with her mother, brothers and sisters to the Aintab region. Her father with other men of Marash, was massacred in the town.
Yester was taken away from her relatives by a Turkish soldier who married her. She lived seven years with him.
Her husband fled from the army and came with her to Aleppo, but never allowed her to leave the house. One day he went to the market and Yester went out too. She met a countryman and asked him to take her to the Armenian church. The man agreed and took her there. The Armenian church of Aleppo has a special "asylum for women" and kept her there. However, the Turk found out where she was and he requested his wife from there. The church could not keep her there any longer and so they sent her to us. We took her in and care for her.
As far as we know she has no relatives.
Found a place as a servant and left.
Left our care: June 12, 1924. Selfsupporting, Servant
