Arshag
was deported with his parents, two sisters and one brother. In Deir-el-Zor he
lost his two sisters. His father and elder brother were killed by Arabs. He
himself was taken into an Arab's tent where he lived as a shepherd. One day he
came to Hassitshe accompanied by another Armenian boy, who also was living
among Arabs. Our agent advised both of them to return to their own nation.
Arshag refused, but his companion (No. 1025) was persuaded and left Hassitshe
for Aleppo. On reaching our rescue-house Armenag sent a message to Arshag
telling him about our work. Arashag was persuaded too, and was sent per auto to
us.
