During the deportation her husband became ill and died. She and her mother were deported to Ishme, a little town 6 hours westwards of Harpoot. A Turk from this town took her to his house. Her mother was sent further on. After two years she fled to Mezri and entered the American orphanage. She was for two years in the orphanage and then discharged because she was over the prescribed age of orphans.

Unfortunately, she knew nobody who could help her in her critical situation. She could not support herself and so she went again to Turks. She lived for 3 years in a Turkish family being a servant. When Armenians were leaving Turkey, she joined a caravan and came with them to Aleppo. She is not able to support herself and so we took her in.

As far as we know she has no relatives.

Left our care: April 18, 1924. Relatives.
