The whole family was deported to Aleppo. The father became ill and died here. The survivors were sent on to a town near Biredjik and they lived there for two years. Her mother married an Armenian there. Koodsi was taken with her elder sister and brother to Adiaman where they earned their living working in different Turkish houses.
Three years afterwards her mother came also to Adiaman being afraid of the Turks she took her little son and went with him to Aintab hoping to put him in the American orphanage. Koodsi, however, was left with her sister.
When Armenians were emigrating, the elder sister came to Aleppo and found a place as a servant here, later she paid a muleteer who brought her sister out of Turkey.
Being unable to support her, she sent Koodsi to us.
