Mariam was married before the Great War. She and her
husband were living in the same house as her parents, two brothers and five
sisters. One day they were attacked by Kurds, who killed all their relatives.
Mariam and her husband succeeded in fleeing in the mountains, where they hid
themselves for a long time. Then they went to Farkin, where a Turk took Mariam
to his house. Her husband disappeared. Mariam fled to Diarbekir where friends
took her in. One day her husband arrived. Two years after he was taken as a
soldier, he ran away and reached Diarbekir. He was very ill and died after a
fortnight.
Newly Mariam and her son arrived in Aleppo.
