Her mother died before the deportation. Her father was put in prison and killed. Vooguetel was deported with her sister. At Veran Keuy she was separated by a tax-collector from her sister and taken to another village. He promised her to return after a few days, telling her that he was going to take her to Baker-Maden. She remained eight days in a Turkish house and when the tax-collector returned to take her the Turk refused him telling that he is going to keep her as his daughter.

This Turk also went later to Baker Maden and took her with him there. She was treated very well by this Turkish family but Vooguetel wanted to return to her nation.

After the Armistice Armenians were emigrating from Harpoot to Syria. Caravans were passing near her house every day. One day she fled from the Turk's house, joined a caravan and came to Aleppo. She was sent to us by the compatriotic union of Armenians from Divrig.

She has three uncles in America.
