PICTURE 8/1
Mariam's father was killed in the beginning of the Armenian massacres. Some time later her mother was deported very early in the morning without the knowledge of her children. When they got up in the morning they were very afraid being alone and they started to cry. One of the Turkish neighbours pitied them and took them to his house, where they remained eight years among the Kourds.
In Lidje their aunt was living, when Armenians began to emigrate. She found the children and sent them with a leaving caravan to Aleppo.
Having no relatives here they were obliged to come to us.
Left our care: February 12, 1925. Relatives.
