Krikor was exiled with his parents,
one brother and two sisters. On reaching Meskene, his father fell ill and died.
His two sisters were taken by Arabs. He himself was left on the road, because
his mother, exhausted of fatigue and hunger, was unable to carry him on her
back. An Arab took the boy into his tent, adopting him as his child. Kirkor
lived eleven years there, doing the work of a shepherd. Once, being informed
about his origin and about our rescue-home, he left his step-father's tent and
reached Deir-el-Zor, where he was sent per auto to us.
