Deported until Der-el-Zor, living among the Arabs.

            Until this spring he fancied his people all perished having been told so by the Arabs. Then however he heard, that there should still be Armenians left in Aleppo and he resolved to go and look for himself promising the young Armenians all around that he would surely come back and tell them, if their people were living. In this case they all would try to leave and come in to Aleppo.

            We are in search of his relatives now and intend for the present to employ him as a messenger to his compatriote south of Der-el-Zor.

Soon afterwards we sent Hagob and Krikor to Der-el-Zor but we never heard anything about them.
