His father was killed in Adana a few years before the war. His mother married for the second time and Panos went to live with his grandparents. At the beginning of the deportation they were all together exiled to Der-el-Zor. His grandparents were killed there, Panos could escape. An Arab took him to his house and Panos lived there for seven years. Some other Armenian boys were there too and all of them wanted to return to their people but nobody knew the truth if there were Armenians left or not. Panos decided to find out if yes or not and  so he left them promising to bring them news. Once here he could not return, being afraid of his cruel master.

            Panos has no relatives.

Panos has learned a trade, became selfsupporting
